Introducing, Ellis Rose, the newest member to my family! She is my cousin, Liz, and her husband, Marc’s, first beautiful baby! She is sooo tiny and gorgeous! She was born at just 5 pounds, 14 ounces and has amazing golden highlights in her soft long dark hair. She really could not be prettier! And in terms of photographing her, she was the dream baby! She didn’t wake up, barely made a peep the whole session, and let us pose her however we wanted. She is perfect in every way! Congratulations, Liz and Marc! I’m so glad we were able to capture her at this tiny precious stage for you!
This image that Ashley captured is one of my favorite from the session. Ellis is laying on a blanket that Liz’s and my late Gramma made. Gramma and Liz were especially close. Our grandfather passed away suddenly when he was just 60 years old. Needless to say, Gramma was devasted and even though Liz was just a very young kid, she walked down to Grammas every day to keep her company. My mom credits Liz for getting Gramma through that time. Gramma would be so proud of Liz and love Ellis so much. I knew I wanted to use some of Gramma’s things in this shoot, to make it extra special. This blanket, along with the gray one below, were both made years ago by Gramma and the silver paint bucket was hers as well. I wish she was here to meet Ellis, Brayden, and her other great grandchilden, but I know she sees them from up above. This mink hat belonged to our late great Aunt Bert, Gramma’s sister. Aunt Bert was a petite woman, so you can see how really tiny Ellis is compared to this hat!Liz brough this adult sized fox “spirit hood.” Looks like Ellis likes it! She was channeling her inner Ke$ha, haha.Beautiful new mom and babyWe’re so happy to have Ellis at the newest member to the family!
