Meet Whitney! She and her family came to my studio to visit me for her newborn photos at just 1 week old. I was lucky enough to be able to meet and photograph this family at the very last minute. With newborn photos, there is a 10 day window that we photographers like to stick to…we like the baby to be as tiny and sleepy as possible since capturing this sweet, tiny, and all too fleeting time is what newborn photography is all about! So, when Whitney’s original newborn photographer came down with a bad case of the flu, she asked me if I was able to help out. Of course! If you have followed my blog, you probably know that I feel passionately about newborn photography. It my mind, choosing a photographer and having your newborn baby professionally captured is equivalent to your wedding day photography. They are both such important times in your lives and pass by soooo quickly! I wrote more about my feelings here. Hopefully, my point comes across as I’m not so good with words (Incidentally, that topic brings me to an upcoming contest I will be having. But, more about that later!) I will do anything I can to ensure that a family has beautiful and timeless photos of their new little baby so I cancelled a dentist appointment, had my husband take the baby and dog out of the house, and got to cleaning, setting up, and preparing for Whitney’s photos. She and her older brother, Sammy, were perfect! Enjoy!
In the rare event that my space heater doesn’t work it’s magic and a baby wakes up on me, I love to use the opportunity to swaddle them up and get some bright eyed awake newborn shots. Whitney was so alert! It’s like she was learning and taking things in already. Big brother, Sammy, decided that he’d love to take his new baby sister for a stroll in the vintage baby carriage. And for her part, Miss Whitney stayed nice and alert the whole time to make sure she was safe, haha.Congratulations, Luka family! She is the perfect addition to your family!
Be on the lookout soon for my next contest! The winner will receive $150 gift certificate!
