Email me at anne@annewilmusphotography or get in touch using the Contact Form button (linked below these questions). Let me know your due date and any specific questions you have.
To officially book a spot near your due date, two things are needed: a retainer and a Portrait Agreement. Everything can be done online and I will send you these links once you get in touch.
Please see the investment page. Contact me for full details.
I recommend booking as soon as you know you want newborn photos. I will always do my best to take later/ last minute bookings but canβt always accommodate them because some months are busier than others and there is a limited timeframe to do newborn photos within.
No problem at all! Pretty much no baby is born on their due date! Just be sure to contact me within a day or two of birth so we can still schedule the session within the ideal time frame. If you are having a scheduled C-section or induction, we can schedule ahead of time. If baby has a nicu stay, we will schedule the session asap once he/she is home.
Newborn photos are best taken within 5 days to 3 weeks after birth in my studio. I schedule the sessions for weekday mornings.
I will have everything ready to go and will handle the baby to get them changed and/or swaddled for photos. If you want any family/sibling photos, we will do those first. (I encourage you to get in at least a few images with your baby. Even just your hands will work if you're not feeling photo-ready.) After your part of the the photos, you can sit back and relax! You can enjoy watching your baby get his/her photos taken and get a few hours to yourself!
Nope! I got you covered! I provide everything we need to photograph the baby. If youβd like to bring something of your own (like a homemade blanket), you are welcome to! Just let me know ahead of time so I can plan how best to incorporate it.
If you are electing lifestyle photos done in your home, we will not be using traditional props or accessories. Please dress your baby in a simple onesie or sleeper.
No problem at all! Almost all babies have funky skin! I edit it all to look nice!
It happens all the time! I do a lot of laundry, lol.
Donβt worry about it! I have over a decade of experience doing this and work with well over a hundred babies a year. Most are great sleepers and, with my experience in handling them safely and properly, are very easy to photograph at this age. But of course, there are always a few that will get gassy, fussy, or just have an awake spell while here. To help ensure extra sleepiness, I will send you detailed prep tips before the session that will hopefully help to avoid this, but I always allow extra time if we need to settle baby more than normal. We will also accommodate and adjust the poses so that baby is the most comfortable he/she can be. Sometimes, these fussy babies end up with some of the cutest pics!
Quickly! I pride myself in customer service and part of that is having your photos edited right away. I promise you will never wait more than ten days (at the maximum!) to get your gallery. I will email you a link to your gallery and post some favorite images online so you can show off your baby right away!
Yes! All of my packages include high resolution digital images and a print release for you. You may use the print release for personal use for any types of prints, albums, birth announcements, etc that you wish to make. I also offer high end professional albums, prints, and canvases that you can purchase from me at any time. You can see pics here and I will have samples for you to look at during your session!
I have been photographing newborns for well over a decade now and I photograph about a hundred newborn babies each year. I have taken an in-person newborn photography workshop and always continue with online learning; taking several classes per year. And, as my schedule permits, I also mentor other newborn photographers myself.
I also have three kids of my own.
Prior to focusing on newborns, I learned photography through private lessons and shadowing of a prominent local wedding photographer. I began my career photographing mostly weddings but quickly found that photographing newborn babies was completely what I loved!
Yes! Lifestyle photoshoots can be done at any age!

π¦πΌπ§πΌ π§πΌI am a mom of three, π°π»ββοΈπ€΅πΌand have been married for 14 years.
πΈ I started learning photography after being inspired by my wedding photographer when I found her in 2008 while googling church photos.
π«I went to W&J for college where I played volleyball πand majored in Business and Psychology. It was so fun and I met my husband there. Before graduating, I took the LSATs and got into law school but decided not to go because I didnβt want to work lawyer hours or have more loans.
π©π»βπΌπ₯I worked in HR for 5 years before throwing all my spare time into photography and turning a hobby into a career.
πΆπΌI officially launched my business in 2011 while on maternity leave with my son. Not having any experience as a mom and not knowing how to create and run a business, it was crazy confusing/stressful and I was tired on top of the post-partum hormones π₯΅π€―. But, obviously Iβm glad I saw it through.
π°πΌββοΈπ€΅π»ππ¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦π©ββ€οΈβπ¨ When first starting out, I photographed either outside or in the dining room of our townhouse. I did everything from engagements, to weddings, families, and newborns. I quickly realized my heart was with the newborns and phased out everything else over the next few years.
πΊπβΎοΈπ£ππ When Iβm not working, my favorite pastimes are sitting on my couch (my happy place) watching TV, reading, or doing or a puzzle. Iβm currently teaching myself how to crochet via YouTube. Basically, Iβm 80. But, even more than my affinity for sitting on my couch, I love watching my kids do their sports.
πβοΈI prefer to leave my house only when itβs sunny or there is a promise of good food. π₯ππ€π£πΏπͺ
πΆπΌ πΈ Iβve thought a lot about it and I really do think my job is one of the best jobs there could possibly be. I look forward to going into the studio for every session I do and I canβt think of anything else Iβd like to spend so much time doing. I hope I can keep doing this for many many years to come.
